New Leadership Emerges in Igbajo Polytechnic’s NAMACOS

The National Association of Mass Communication Students (NAMACOS), Igbajo Polytechnic held its much-anticipated election today, marking a significant event in the campus's political landscape. The election, which saw an impressive turnout, was conducted with transparency and enthusiasm, reflecting the democratic spirit of the student body.

The election featured candidates vying for key positions, including the President, Vice President and Treasurer of NAMACOS other positions are not competitive. The election process was held at the front of the department building.

The Chairman, Students Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC) of NAMACOS Igbajo polytechnic Igbajo, Comrade Olayiwola Feranmi Omojaro expressed his view and appreciate on the electoral process "Even though this is my first time being a SIEC chairman, I am so happy and greatful that the election goes well and no forms of conflict among the contestant and I'm greatful to all the NAMACOS SIEC team that also work hard in making this election a great and successful one. I therefore urge all the new elected executives never to forget all the promises they have made for the department during their manifesto and there should be no promise and fail".



The collation and counting process was meticulously handled by the electoral committee, ensuring transparency and fairness. At the end of the process, Abiola Joshua Omoboboye emerged victorious, securing the majority of the votes.

In an exclusive interview with the newly elected president, Abiola Joshua Omoboboye, he expressed his gratitude to the students for entrusting him with the leadership of the association. "I am deeply honored to have been elected as the president of NAMCOS. This victory is not just mine but belongs to all the students who believed in our vision for a better and more united association. I promise to work diligently with my team to achieve the goals we have set and to elevate the standards of our association," Omoboboye stated.


The New Vice president of NAMACOS Igbajo also express his gladness on the electoral process and the results "I'm so excited to get to this position and I'm willing to work with my new president for the betterment of the department"

Tobiloba Adekunle, the newly elected PRO, also shared his excitement and plans for the association. "Communication is key in any organization, and as the PRO, my focus will be on ensuring that every student is well-informed and engaged. We have a lot of initiatives lined up, and I am eager to get started," Adekunle said.

The Head of Department (HOD) of Mass Communication, Mr. Olugbenga Adesemowo, praised the students for conducting a peaceful and orderly election. "I am proud of our students for demonstrating such a high level of maturity and responsibility during the election process. It is a testament to the quality of leadership we are grooming in this department. I have no doubt that the new executives will continue to uphold the values and standards of NAMCOS," Mr. Adesemowo remarked.

As the new administration takes over, the students of Mass Communication Department, Igbajo Polytechnic Igbajo look forward to a dynamic and impactful tenure under the leadership of Abiola Joshua Omoboboye and his team.
