Igbajo Polytechnic resumed academic activities for the 2024/2025 academic session, but concerns have arisen over the delayed resumption of new students while lectures are already in progress. In an interview with some of the new students, they expressed excitement about joining the polytechnic but also raised concerns about the challenges of catching up with ongoing lectures.

The Dean of Students’ Affairs, Mr. Olaniyi Onipede, spoke on the issue during a press briefing, highlighting the importance of early resumption. He expressed dissatisfaction with the late arrival of many new students, noting its impact on their academic preparedness.

“Lectures have already commenced, and it’s concerning that many of our new students are yet to join us on campus. This delay will only make it harder for them to integrate and keep up with their peers,” Mr. Onipede stated.

The Dean further emphasized the importance of attending classes regularly and staying proactive. “Orientation for the new students will be conducted soon, and it is crucial that they take this opportunity to familiarize themselves with the institution’s policies and expectations. I strongly advise all students to resume on time, attend lectures, and complete all necessary registrations promptly. Exams are scheduled to begin in February 2025, and time is of the essence.”

The polytechnic management continues to encourage students to take advantage of the institution's robust academic environment by showing commitment and diligence from the outset. Meanwhile, staff members have expressed readiness to provide support to new students to ensure a smooth academic journey.

The resumption period serves as a critical time for students to align themselves with the institution's academic calendar, and the call for early resumption is a reminder to all to prioritize their education.
